Max Holloway earned himself a third title shot at the featherweight title against the current champion Alexander Volkanovski.

He lost his previous 2 fights against him via split decision and after putting up a performance of the lifetime against Calvin Kattar, the boss Dana White believes he deserves another title shot.

After Max’s fight against Kattar, Dana White said, “He did what he needed to do in spectacular fashion tonight. I think that he deserves to fight Volkanovski again.”

Max is a legend for sure but he wants greatness and he is willing to do anything to get that respect. In an interview with Mike Heck from MMA Fighting, he said, “When all this money and fame and interviews, when they don’t want to interview me anymore, I want my name to be among the greats in all of the sports, not only this division. Whatever it takes, let me know, and I’m willing to walk that road.”

Max would face the winner of Brian Ortega vs Alexander Volkanovski fight, these two are going to compete for the title at UFC 260, and Max has his eyes set on the fight.

Max Holloway believes the fight between Volkanovksi and Ortega can go either way, he said, “Styles make fights, and whoever shows up. We’ll see what happens. We’ll see the way it goes, and let the best man win.”

In the same interview, he said, “Everybody knows that I’m the cloud. I’m the cloud over that fight. I’m the cloud over the division. Let them two guys focus on each other, and then let the rain continue after.”
