On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers fell 0-3 down in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Milwaukee Brewers following a crushing 6-2 loss in Game 3. After the game, Max Muncy did not mince his words and dropped a brutally honest take regarding his team.
After losing Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee, the two-time defending champions entered Game 3 in LA hoping to bounce back. For Game 3 they had Blake Snell on the mound.
The NL West side fell behind after just one pitch. On the very first pitch of the game, Jackson Chourio smashed a solo home run to right center field and gave the Brewers an early lead.

The Dodgers did rally back in the 6th inning. After loading the bases on 3 walks, Will Smith hit a 2-run double bouncing off the wall and gave the hosts a 2-1 lead.
It was the 7th inning where the Brewers retook the lead. Snell, who had thrown 6 innings, gave up back-to-back home runs to Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell.

The Brewers added 2 more runs in the 9th inning and emerged as 6-2 winners. With the win they took a 3-0 series lead and put the Dodgers on the brink of elimination.

Muncy, who came as a pinch-hitter in the 6th inning, went 0-for-2 while striking out in his first at-bat. After the game, he simply claimed that their opposition were playing better than them.
It’s a pretty simple answer: We’re playing like s*** they’re playing great.

The hopes of a 3-peat are now hanging by a thread. Only once has a team in MLB history come back from 0-3 down in a best-of-seven postseason series to win.
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts was part of that comeback as the Boston Red Sox came back from a 0-3 deficit to beat the New York Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series (ALCS). Roberts will need his team to take some inspiration from that if they were to make history this year.
Dodgers’ offensive struggles continued in Game 3 loss
The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a major blow on Wednesday night as they lost 6-2 in Game 3. Their offensive struggles continued in this game as they managed just 5 hits.

In Game 2, the Dodgers had just 3 hits and 4 runs. None of those runs came through the base hits though. Two sacrifice flies from Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez and 2 throwing errors helped them put up something on the scoreboard.
In a must-win Game 3, their batting lineup struggled once again. Mookie Betts had just one hit in 5 at-bats. Freeman went 0-for-4. Hernandez and Kyle Tucker both went 1-for-3 with 1 walk.
Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani was batting 6th in the lineup. He had 1 hit in his 2 at-bats and 1 walk and once again failed to make a huge impact.
The concerning part for the Dodgers is that they have not hit a single home run in this NLCS. The team, who had 204 home runs in the regular season, are yet to see a single ball fly over the fence for a home in this series.

The Dave Roberts-led side now faces the prospect of getting swept in the NLCS. Last year, they were the ones leading 3-0 after Game 3 and went on to complete the sweep of the Brewers with a historic performance from Ohtani in Game 4.
For Game 4, they will have Tyler Glasnow on the mound. They will however, need their bats to wake up if they were to stay alive.
