It was recently revealed that Lewis Hamilton would be jumping ship to Ferrari from the 2025 season onwards. Also, around the rumour mill, it is now being speculated that Red Bull’s chief designer Adrian Newey could follow the Briton to Maranello. Max Verstappen has given his reaction on the same while warning the team of the consequences.
The legendary British designer has been a part of the team since 2006 and is a major reason for the success of the team. The Briton has more than two dozen championships credited to his name. This makes him an attractive proposition for the Scuderia to bring alongside the seven-time champion. However, the Dutchman wants Newey to stay with the team for longer.
No one will be like Adrian. Thatβs the great thing about it: everyone is different and everyone achieves success in a different way. Therefore, no, you cannot replace Adrian because there is only one Adrian.Max Verstappen said as reported by motorsport-magazin
Verstappen reiterated that the Briton is a major reason for their success and no one could replace him. The 26-year-old has firm faith in his colleague and would like to see him remain with the team and create history amid Christian Horner’s statement. The 65-year-old had designed multiple championship-winning cars with various teams in his early days in F1. Now, he is a name that is strongly associated with the Austrian energy drinks team.
What are Max Verstappen’s expectations for the 2024 season?
Verstappen is considered one of the most complete drivers in F1, if not the most. The Dutchman has been on a roll for the past few seasons and has given his views on the upcoming campaign.

I mean, of course, you try to have another season like that. I think itβs quite unrealisticMax Verstappen said as reported by ESPN UK
The three-time champion when asked about whether he wants to replicate the previous season’s success this year. The Dutchman stated that he would like to replicate it but it would be hard to do so and would like to keep his expectations realistic.
Now, the Dutchman is preparing himself for the upcoming season and to win his fourth world championship in succession. The grid is expected to close up this year and few teams may be in contention for the championship this year.
