The three-time-world-champion Max Verstappen had to face another collision at the Hungarian GP with Lewis Hamilton. The drivers at the almost end of racing collided at turn 2 which resulted in Verstappen losing his position to Charles Leclerc. The Dutchman was very frustrated at that point, and fired shots on his critics post race.
Max Verstappen after the collision was very out of control and frustrated. He responded to the critics who all blamed him for the collision saying they all can f**k off. The 26-year-old felt the criticism was just unfair and the people were making a big deal out of it. He mentioned that in Austria he faced a lot of criticism of moving under braking, which was very frustrating.
They can all fuck off. I got a lot of shit thrown at me in Austria with people saying moving under braking, blah blah blah.Max Verstappen said, as reported by Motorsport.com..
Max Verstappen explained the situation he dealt with. The Dutchman stated that When he starts driving, he first positions his car where he wants it to be on the track. Once he has it in the desired spot, he keeps it steady and straight. The 26-year-old makes sure his car is correctly placed at the beginning of a maneuver and then maintains that position without making further adjustments.
I am positioning my car on the initial movement and then I keep it straight.Max Verstappen added.
Max Verstappen explained the reasons behind locking his brakes
Max Verstappen explained the situation where he and Lewis Hamilton crashed. He stated that while braking today, Hamilton kept turning to the right, which caused issues for him. This move made it difficult for Verstappen who was trying to make a passing move through the Briton. Hamilton’s car was moving in a way that blocked Verstappen’s path and he ended up locking up his brakes and they collided. This collision was brutal, causing Verstappen’s car to fly.
Today, under braking he just kept turning to the right and that is why I also locked up because I was going for the move, but I saw the car on the outside kept coming at meMax Verstappen stated.
Max Verstappen explained that if things had been different, he and Hamilton might have crashed earlier. As Hamilton kept moving to the right, the Dutchman had to quickly stop his car to avoid a collision. This sudden braking caused Verstappen to lock up his wheels and they skidded instead of turning smoothly. The situation ultimately resulted in an accident, and Verstappen received all the blame. Despite the circumstances, everyone agreed that he was at fault for the incident.
Otherwise, we would've already crashed before. I had to stop the car so that is why I locked up.Max Verstappen added.
Certainly, Max Verstappen explained that to avoid a crash he purposely locked his brake but eventually they collided. Fans were disappointed as witnessing back-to-back poor performance from Max Verstappen was not expected. McLaren is just points away from the Dutchman to catch him up in the driver’s standings.
