Micah Parsons doesn’t get flustered easily, but even he needed to reassure himself when a fan showed him a tattoo of his signature. The muted smile on his face was a dead giveaway of what was going through his mind.

After the latest practice at the Cowboys facility, Micah Parsons was heading back home when a fan wearing a Cowboys helmet and a Dak Prescottinspired chain around his neck shouted at the All-Pro edge rusher to come and take a look at his arm.

Why the 2024 season could be Dak Prescott's last with the Cowboys #cowboys

The fan grabbed Parsons’ hand and pulled him close by force. He extended his left arm and pointed to a tattoo that suspiciously looked similar to Parsons’ signature.

Micah paused and observed the signature for a moment. While he did not bring it up in the video posted by the NFL on ESPN, he genuinely seemed slightly surprised by someone inking his signature on their body.

It’s not uncommon for fans to ink their favorite athletes’ names, initials, or even the impression of their entire face, but a signature isn’t something one comes across on a daily basis. Regardless, it only proves how popular Micah Parsons is among Cowboys fans, and they would prefer he extends his contract in 2025.

Micah Parsons is an early frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year Award

On any given day, Micah Parsons is in the top 5 or maybe the top 3 linebackers in the league now that Aaron Donald is no longer around. Since his rookie year, he pushed the boundaries of proved his elite mentality.

However, there’s one individual football accolade that continues to skip him every single season: the Defensive Player of the Year award. Last season Cleveland Browns all-pro pass rusher Myles Garrett bagged the title after recording 42 tackles and 14 sacks, although the numbers were lower than his 2022 seasons, in which he had 60 tackles and 16 sacks.

NFL.com put out a list of players in the running for the prestigious title. Their analysts are favoring Micah Parsons as the 2024 DPOY. Early voting suggests Parsons’ odds to win DPOY are +550 ahead of Myles Garrett, Steelers’ TJ Watt, and Raiders’ Maxx Crosby. Parsons received 8 votes from the analysts, while the other three are tied at 7 each.

Coincidentally, Parsons and Garrett will face each other in the 2024 season opener at the Dawg Pound. It will also mark the debut of Tom Brady’s broadcasting career with FOX Sports.
