“Not fumble me,” 35-year-old star reveals how Triple H’s creative takeover influenced her WWE return, calls him ‘protective father figure’
One of the rising names on SmackDown's side of the women's roster has opened up on what led to her WWE return in 2022.

With allegations of s*xual misconduct wiping Vince McMahon out of WWE administration, Triple H‘s ascend to authority marked the dawn of a new era. A number of superstars who fell to creative bankruptcy under McMahon’s regime returned to the company, donning a semblance of resurrection. One such name who tread the same path was Michin. She recently detailed her thought process behind making her way back to WWE.
Speaking to The Metro, the SmackDown superstar said she felt good to know that there was finally someone in charge of things who cared about the roster, alluding to Triple H. Reminiscing about her time in NXT, which at that juncture was solely driven by The Game, Michin said that the 14-time World Champion was like a protective father figure to her.
The then-ongoing return spree of some of her NXT colleagues also acted as an impetus to help Michin make her mind about fancying a second inning with WWE. The erstwhile Mia Yim stressed that she knew she could trust Triple H to not fumble her. And that’s how things panned out. In November 2022, she made her return on Monday Night Raw.

Yim arrived as the female muscle of The OC, comprising AJ Styles and The Good Brothers, who were feuding with The Judgment Day back then. She even took a firm stand against Rhea Ripley, which enabled Mia to get mighty popular on the main roster right off the bat. Earlier this year, the former Retribution member met Iyo Sky for the Women’s Championship on SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution.
The two women displayed enchanting chemistry that they had developed from their tenures in NXT. Despite a spirited effort, Michin faltered in the clutch moments to give Sky the upper hand. Iyo then closed out the match, denying Yim the title.
Michin came close to winning her first major WWE title on SmackDown
This past week on SmackDown, Michin had another shot to become a women’s champion in WWE. She opposed a formidable Nia Jax with gold on the line. Since it was a street fight, the rules kind of worked in the favor of the challenger, as she’d been in a number of those bouts previously.
Anyways, the match was as hard-hitting as one would expect. Jax was put on spaghetti legs by the former Mia Yim. However, it was Nia’s bestie Tiffany Stratton who eventually cost Yim the match.
Tiffy swung wildly at Mia with her Money in the Bank briefcase, softening the 35-year-old up for Jax to do the rest. And just like that, Michin’s second opportunity to capture gold on the main roster went begging.
