Minecraft Fungus: All you need to know!
Minecraft has many items that grow naturally in the Overworld that the players can use in their recipes. Among them we take a look at the Minecraft Fungus and all its variants and uses in the game!
Players can come across a wide variety of vegetation in the game ranging from very tall trees to small herbs and bushes. Thy exist to help the player in a few recipes and are all useful for one purpose or the other. Among them the mushrooms and fungus have a wide variety of applications and we take a look at the latter.

Minecraft Fungus
The Fungus is a mushroom block that can be found in the Nether biome. They are the same as the mushrooms that are found in the Overworld.

Variants of Fungus
The Minecraft Fungus is marked by its appearance and is divided into two varinats:
- Crimson Fungi: These are red mushroom like fungi with markings of orange and yellow on the top.
- Warped Fungi: These are turquoise colored and are in a cross shaped pattern. They also have orange markings on their top.
Locations
They are found in crimson forests and warped forests in the Nether realm. Both the variants can be found in either zones but the Crimson fungi are more common in Crimson Forests and Warped fungi in warped forests.
They can also be found inside Bastion Remnant chests in Hoglin Stables.
These can be harvested easily by breaking them with hands or any tools.
Uses for Fungi
To make Big Fungi
Upon making them grow using Bone Meal a small fungus will grow into its tall variant. They will grow into crimson and warped Huge fungi respectively.
To breed Hoglins and Striders
Crimson Fungi can also be used to breed hoglins but at the same time it cannot stop them from being aggressive to the player.
Warped Fungi can be used to breed Striders or lead them around with a warped fungus on a stick.
Crafting
They are used to craft the Warped Fungus on a Stick so that players can control the movements of the Strider.
Composting
When added to a Composter they have a 65% chance to raise the level by one.
