Minecraft Llama: All you need know!
Minecraft has a ton of mobs that are interactive with the player and serve various purposes. In this article we take a look at a goofy mob called the Minecraft Llama and all its features.
Minecraft mobs range from passive to extremely hostile and players can encounter many of them while adventuring or roaming the Overworld. These mobs are determined by the biome the players visit and have different behaviour patterns which makes them unique.
Down below are all the features of the Minecraft Llama.
Minecraft Llamas
Minecraft Llamas are neutral mobs that can be tamed by the players and is useful for carry luggage.

Locations
Llamas spawn in savannas or mountain biomes where they can spawn in groups of 0-6. They have 4 variants according to their fur color:
- Brown
- Cream
- White
- Gray
Players can also find them with Wandering Traders, who carry two of them on a leash. However, they turn hostile if the player attacks the Trader.
Uses
Llamas are transport animals like the mule and can be fitted with a Small Chest to make a convenient mobile storage unit. Players need to use Leads to move them around as they cannot be ridden with a Saddle.
They can also be equipped with various carpets, that changes the attire and how they look.
Attacks
Llamas are neutral mobs which means that if they are attacked by the players, they will retaliate. Llamas attack by spitting at the player or any mob which deals 1 heart damage.
Llamas which spit at other llamas will start a spitting fight. However, they will spit towards wolves as soon as they see them. If the Llama is strong enough then the wolves will run away from them.
The Llamas belonging to Wandering traders will protect him from zombies and pillagers.
What do Llamas eat: Taming and Breeding
Llamas eats Wheat and Hay Bales, which the player can feed them by clicking on them. However, players cannot tame them by feeding them.
Players need to ride on them repeatedly to make them tame. However, tamed Llamas will retaliate when attacked.
To Breed Llamas players need to feed them Hay Bales to tamed Llamas. This spawns a baby Llama. However, the trader llamas cannot be bred.
Drops
- Adult Llamas drop 0-2 Leather upon killed.
- They will also drop the carpet they are wearing.
- The Llamas with chests will drop all the items in the chest.
- They also drop 1-3 EXP orbs.
