Minecraft Respiration is a enchantment for the helmets in Minecraft and cannot be applied to any other item, weapons or armor. This helps in breathing underwater and not drown.

This enchantment can be found from Enchanted books found in chests and even on enchanted helmets found in chests.
What does respiration do in Minecraft?
Respiration is a helmet enchantment that is used to extend breathing time underwater and can only be naturally enchanted to helmets.
The Respiration increases the duration of underwater breathing time by 15 seconds per level of Enchantment. This can make the total time of staying underwater by 60 seconds at Respiration III.
This can also let the player have a chance of not taking drowning damage each second which also scales with level.
This Enchantment comes in handy in situations such as Ocean Temple raids and while exploring underwater biomes. The deep oceans have claimed many lives to drowning and having this enchantment makes sure that the players get ample time to explore and beat mobs like Guardians and Elder Guardians!
