WWE has been on a roll lately. From packed PLEs to successful shows, the promotion has been doing absolutely great with their business. Ever since their merger with the UFC to form TKO, the Stamford-based promotion has seen a lot of changes. Now, some reports have revealed the minimum payout WWE has been providing to their superstars.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the base pay currently in WWE is $350,000. It is a hefty amount as compared to the previous one, which was revealed by Dave Meltzer to be around $250,000. It has seen a significant rise after TKO Group Holdings took over.
Moreover, for the NXT Superstars, the base pay might vary from $50,000 to $60,000. It was disclosed in an old report by Meltzer that some exceptional wrestlers even have higher paychecks in NXT. Furthermore, WWE stars even get additional pay for their appearances on house shows.
Besides, they even get royalties for their merchandise sales as well. With such a high rise in the number of WWE superstars, it can be said that they have been making quite some money lately. As of now, Brock Lesnar stands tall at the pinnacle, with the highest pay of $12 million in WWE. Following him, stars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Becky Lynch all have whopping salaries.
TKO merged important WWE and UFC teams in a single unit
TKO has been doing a pretty interesting job with WWE and the UFC ever since the merger. Another major step has been taken by the group in order to revamp things with both titans in their respective fields. A new report suggests that TKO has united a team of Dana White, Paul Levesque, and Nick Khan, who will all come together for the live event division for both the UFC and WWE.
According to Wrestling Inc., executive Peter Dropick will be leading the live event division for both companies. His team will consist of stars such as The Game, White, and Khan, as well as some other internal executives. Furthermore, the group made this move in order to enhance the efficiency of both divisions and to provide an opportunity to increase revenue.
WWE is all set to collaborate with the UFC for their NXT Battleground event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It has pointed towards much more collaboration in the near future between the companies. It is going to be interesting to see how things are going to be from here on between the MMA and wrestling-based promotions.
