“Irreconcilable differences” Albert Pujols’ alienated wife appeals child and spousal support after brain surgery

St. Louis Cardinals’ legend Albert Pujols and his wife Deidre Pujols were married for 22 years and 1 month after which they decided to end their marriage as there were “Irreconcilable differences”, reportedly on April 5th 2022. Albert Pujols issued a statement by informing that he and Deidre “remain committed” to raising their five children “in a loving and safe environment.”

Recently, Deidre has asked Albert Pujols to foot the bill in terms of a hefty amount in child and spousal support as a part of their divorce. According to court several documents freshly obtained on July 21, Deidre responded to Albert’s petition filed in Orange County, California.

The two share three minor children: 16-year-old Sophia, 12-year-old Ezra and 9-year-old Esther. They also have a 24-year-old adult daughter named Isabella. “I am thankful for the five beautiful children that we brought into this world and remain committed to raising them in a loving and safe environment. I ask that you please respect our privacy and the privacy of our five children during this time.”

At the time of Albert Pujols and Deidre Pujols divorce she checked the box to request joint legal and physical custody of their children. She not only wants child support for the minor kids but is also pressing upon additional support for Isabella.

This is not where Deidre stopped, the appeal also involved the court asking Albert Pujols should award her spousal support and the court must terminate the MLB star’s right to any support. Deidra also noted, “various separate property assets, the full extent, nature, and location of which are not fully known to Deidra at this time.”

They both listed the date of marriage as January 1, 2000, and the date of separation as February 16, 2022. Albert Pujols was even asked to pay the legal fees of both the parties involved in the divorce case. “As a devout Christian, this is an outcome that I never wanted to see happen,” Pujols continued in a statement. “For many long days and nights, I prayed, asking the Lord for His guidance.”
