“Fans boo because they want to cheer”- Harrison Bader quotes Derek Jeter as he addresses Yankees’ fans

Harrison Bader a.k.a Tots born in Bronxville, was traded to New York Yankees for Jordan Montgomery by the St. Louis Cardinals. He made his MLB debut in 2017 with the Cardinals and is set to play for Team Israel in the 2023 World baseball Classic in Miami from March 11 to 15.

With an MLB debut for the New York Yankees on Tuesday, center fielder Harrison Bader addressed fans. He quoted Yankees legend Derek Jeter. “I think Derek Jeter said it best: ‘Fans boo because they want to cheer'” said Bader. “I’m going to go out there and do my best to give them something to cheer for.”

What a debut for Harrison Bader

Would Harrison Bader give Yankees’ fan a reason to cheer ? In his first debut the Yankees, Bader has witnessed it all from Aaron Judges 60th season home run, to Giancarlo Stanton’s immense third career walk-off grand slam. It was an amazing evening for him with three RBIs and a run scored in his debut leading the Yankees to a 9-8 win against the Pirates.

“That was the goal,” Bader said of making an immediate impact. “Everything that came prior to being able to debut is in the past and I just wanted to be — whether it was a catch or a stolen bag or whatever — I was just really wanting and ready to be effective for this team to help them win the game.”
