Throwing the first ceremonial pitch in any baseball game is a years-long ritual given to the guest of honor at the ballpark and is a big achievement. Such precious occassion are often attended by famous names. The recent big name who got this prestigious opportunity was hometown hero, American Rapper Megan Thee Stallion when she took the mound at the Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Ahead of the Houston Astros opening day game against White Sox, the 28-year-old successfully pitched the ball to Astros infielder David Hensley after a few hesistations. The rapper dressed up in jeans and a customed Astros jersey. The game however did not plan out the way she and the other 41,000 had planned as the defending champions succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
The ”Sweetest Pie” rapper recieved big hugs from Hensley and Orbit, the Astros alien mascot. This came on a day after Tony Lanez filed an appeal after he was convicted of shooting Megan in 2020.
