Astros win lottery as Jeremy Pena emerges hero, MOCKING Carlos Correa’s exit from the team
Jeremy Pena and Carlos Correa
Artistic Jeremy Pena– The 2022 World Series win against the Philadelphia Phillies, was not that much of a shock to the Houston Astros, compared to what baseball shortstop Jeremy Pena delivered to the team. After Carlos Correa’s exit from the team, the Astros were indeed a bit worried about the left seat.
Pena emerged as the hero of the 2022 postseason, becoming the trump card for the Houston Astros. He changed the fate of the team this postseason, displaying his sportsmanship, especially in the ALCS and the World Series 2022. Though that’s not all the team got from this emerging 25-year-old shortstop.
Other than playing magnificently well in the postseason, the Astros also won in financial terms. Pena’s contract has been a lottery for the team, after looking over his correct abilities. He signed up a $700,000 contract per season, with the recent World Series winner. This is a lot cheaper than Correa’s $35.1 million contract per season.

Jeremy Pena emerges as the star Astros player in the postseason
After Game 6, the 4-1 victory of the Astros at Minute Maid Park sparked a fire for the team. The social media seems to be enjoying the feat made by Pena more than the team’s WS win. Undoubtedly the win was a team effort, but Pena’s contribution was far too great. With his consistent performance this entire 2022 season, Pena might even win the AL Rookie of the Year Award.
After Carlos Correa left the team, it was in serious trouble, or so everyone thought. Pena’s emergence painted a different story though. Correa left the team as a free agent and signed up Minnesota Twins for a $105.3 million contract.
In the contract, there’s a clause that states that the shortstop can leave the team anytime between his 2-year contract. Given the clause, Correa may be looking for an alternative option during his free agency. Though it’s all talk for now. Some even argued, he might be looking back at his former team.
Until the day arises, there’s no telling what Correa’s new destination will be, but for now, Pena is in the focus area. He is already evolving as a monstrous player. Apart from being a WS Champion, he’s also the Series MVP, ALCS MVP, and the Gold Glove Award winner.
