“F*** bad opinions”: Jose Siri deletes savage tweet as he prevents a potential rift
Jose Siri
The Houston Astros crushed the National League-leading New York Mets 8-2 Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park, they got it done on the strength of home runs by Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez and Jose Siri. The Astros opened an important nine-game stretch – all against the two teams with the best records in baseball, the New York Mets and New York Yankees.
It was what Jose Siri did after his blast that could have started a potential squabble between the two teams but according to a few reports, in the remaining series between the Astros and the Mets, beginning with Wednesday afternoon’s series finale, the energy will be a bit high.
Houston Astros was up 7-2 in the eighth inning against the New York Mets on Tuesday, that is when Jose Siri broke his 0-for-10 slump with a solo home run to the train tracks above left field. He flipped his bat and admired the shot for a handful of seconds before scurrying to first base, a sequence Astros manager Dusty Baker was not happy with.

Jose Siri’s disrespectful tweet caused major annoyance for Manager Dusty Baker
It all started with Jose Siri’s tweet: “[F—] bad opinions. have fun.” It was quickly deleted before Wednesday’s game. To which Dusty Baker said, “He should have run, back in our day, the next guy would have gotten drilled.”
“That’s kind of in the past,” he said. “You can’t help when people tweet. He’s got to be careful when you press that button. That’s what we were warned about in spring training. Just make sure that’s what you want to say when you press a button.”

He was then asked if Siri would face any discipline for the tweet.
“I haven’t heard anything about it since then,” he said. “That’s part of America and part of youth right now. So, I’m just glad that I don’t pay attention to it or adhere to it.”
Although Siri refused to sit in any of the postgame interviews, his words were out through an interpreter “I know I made an error there, I spoke to some of our guys and, yeah, I just made an error.”
New York Mets’ Manager Buck Showalter also mentioned in his postgame press conference that some of his players were extremely dispirited after Jose Siri’s actions. “There are certain things that you do talk about — right and wrong — but you don’t want to impose the way you were brought up in the game [on them],” Showalter said. “[Like] ‘Hey, guys, you’re supposed to be mad at that.'”
