MLB fans DEVASTATED as Eric Burton f**ks up the National Anthem to start off the 2022 World Series Phillies and Astros Game 1
Eric Burton MLB
The much-awaited MLB 2022 World Series game between the Phillies and Astros had a rather bungled start as Black Puma singer Eric Burton made a mess of the National Anthem. The Grammy award-winning artist totally lost it as he made various mistakes while singing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ at the Minute Made Park.
The 33-year-old performing the national anthem in front of a packed ground lost track of the lyrics, singing the same line twice. Although his vocals were in the right place, Eric surely forgot to pack his memory for the show. Nevertheless, the crowd showed a warm wave of affection for the artist despite his mistakes.
Not new to this, Burton has performed on big stages and packed crowds throughout his career with the Grammy Awards, and performance at Biden‘s inauguration on his resume among several other high-profile gigs. Let’s just say – “It happens to the best of us“.
MLB forced to cancel South Korean tour amidst promoter disputes
More controversies making their way, the Major League Baseball has been caught up in massive disputes pertaining to promotor issues. “MLB has had ongoing contractual issues with the event promoter that we have been trying to resolve for some time,” Jim Small, MLB VP said.
This was supposed to be the first visit to South Korea for MLB post-1922. Most expectations came crumbling down with Jim mentioning that it was hard for both the fans and the league. “Regrettably we are at a point where we have to cancel the upcoming tour because the event is unable to meet the high quality our Korean fans deserve,” he added.
Major League Baseball’s decision to cancel the tour has also perplexed Korean Baseball Organization. They understood the difficulties but the cancellation was too far to accept. “Even though we had expected difficulties in assembling our team because of league schedules and other issues, we decided to cooperate with MLB to help globalize the game of baseball,” said a KBO spokesperson regretting the inconvenience caused for the fans. Looks like South Korea’s 100-year wait isn’t over yet.
