Aaron Judge’s injury has been one of the biggest scares for the New York Yankees fans. The Yankees captain is currently sidelined due to a mild hip strain suffered during the match against Minnesota on Wednesday. What seemed like a birthday scare for the All Rise, Judge clarified that nothing was concerning. However, he was seen holding his right hand as he returned to the dugout.

In Thursday’s match against the Rangers, Judge stated about slight discomfort in the top of the fourth inning. He left that game a short while later, replaced by Oswaldo Cabera in the right field at Global Life Field.

A new update from manager Aaron Boone stated that a decision on Judge’s stint on the injured list won’t come until Monday. Boone says, “I know he came in feeling a little better today. I’m sure he’ll go through everything, and we’ll evaluate where we are.”

Aaron Boone stated that although Judge feels much better on Sunday, he will likely not be doing any baseball-related activities. This also rules him out from Monday’s lineup against Cleveland, whom the Yankees will face in a three-game home series.

According to the Yankees manager, Judge might avoid the IL(Injury List) and return soon for the rest of the Cleveland series in the best-case scenario. Judge’s impact on the Yankees team is relatively astounding, given the captain is himself the most expensive player in the franchise and MLB’s history.

Aaron Judge holds the record for hitting 62 homers in a single season in the AL, a record which speaks for the capabilities and talent of the slugger. This season, Judge has been hitting .261 and recorded six homers and 14 RBIs in 26 games. The Yankees captain was present in every team match until he was ruled out of play due to an injury on Friday. He has not featured in the rest of the Yankees’ games on Saturday and Sunday.

The Yankees had to face another misery, Jake Bauers sustaining a right knee contusion after he slammed into the left field wall on Saturday. Bauers, added to Yankees’ 26-man roster, clarifies on the injury, “I’m walking pretty well. The only thing that’s keeping my range of motion down is the swelling, so I’m sure today we’ll try to get all of that out of there.”

Currently, the Yankees are without outfielders Giancarlo Stanton, Harrison Bader, third baseman Josh Donaldson, and six other pitchers who are all on the IL.
