Kevin Lee is a familiar name in the MMA community even after being deprecated from the UFC earlier this year. After getting released by the company, Lee signed a multi-fight deal with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC promotion. He made his debut against MMA veteran Diego Sanchez and he was successful in defeating him.
He also made headlines when he stated, “We know that the best fighters aren’t always in the UFC. Here are some guys out in Russia that will beat the f*ck out of you, so my competitiveness in me just drives me to be even better than them – and that’s just a never-ending process. It’s not like now I can chill, now I’m making a bunch of money, now I can go out there and just have fun. No – this is a fight. In his debut against Diego Sanchez, Lee used his grappling skills as an advantage to sweep a decision against the MMA veteran. He Frequently took the fight to the ground and peppered Sanchez with a series of elbows and strikes from the top.
Kevin Lee provides an update on his lingering knee injury
In the fight against Diego Sanchez, Kevin suffered from an injury, fearing it might be an ACL tear. However, Kevin must be in a state of joy hearing from the doctors that he will be required for the surgery. He expressed the status quo when he took to Twitter and stated, ”No surgery on my knee. I’ll be ready to go into training camp this summer.”
He would be required to get proper physical therapy, a conventional surgery will not be required for the fighter, according to his manager, Marquel Martin who stated “some slight ACL movement but with proper physical therapy he can get stability back.”
This is definitely delightful news for Kevin and his fans who wish to see him compete in the octagon as soon as possible. Most likely we will be seeing the fighter by the end of this year in his new organization, Eagle FC.
