“She thinks I care” Cris Cyborg claims Cat Zingano is ducking her as she refutes ridiculous steroid-use allegations

Cyborg and Zingano go back an forth over terms for their fight

Cris Cyborg and Cat Zingano have been at the top of their respective careers at the same time in the same organization but never seemed to have crossed paths in the octagon. With her recent move to the Bellator it would seem that is exactly what Scott Coker has in mind.
Zingano has her name in the MMA history books for being one of the few people that have victories over Meisha Tate and much more notably, Amanda Nunes.

Along with this she also holds the honor of competing for the inaugural women’s UFC Championship alongside Ronda Rousey. This is why it’s surprising to some that she would be so cautious in accepting a fight against Cris Cyborg in the twilight of her career.

While Zingano has asked to be assured of independent drug testing before she ever considers facing Cyborg in the cage, many believe it’s a tactic to delay the bout as long as possible. Someone who shares that belief is none other than Cyborg herself.

Cyborg in her reign as Bellator Featherweight Champ

A former champion in the UFC herself, Cris Cyborg moved to Bellator and managed to capture the women’s featherweight championship in the organization that she has already defended four times. Today the champion hit out at her probable future opponent with stats that refuted the idea that Zingano was at an advantage with independent drug tests.

Unlike the UFC which has year-round testing at random, Bellator leaves testing up to the commissions and hires independent testers when they’re overseas. She said, “Cat Zingano 9-0 with wins over Miesha and Nunes. Enters USADA in 2015 and goes 1-4 competing.” highlighting the fact that Zingano was in fact on a losing skid when she was in a rigorous testing pool. She continued, “Now she’s 2-0 after leaving USADA and fighting on YouTube Friday night and thinks I care what she wants, ” refuting Zingano’s claim that it was Cyborg who needed her.

Zingano herself is set to face off against Pam Sorenson at Bellator 282, where if she’s victorious she might warrant a title shot against Cyborg next. Who do you think will come out on top when these two legends of the sport face off.
