Both the fighters have fought in the UFC for a long time but will be facing each other for the first time. Dan’s last fight in the UFC came in 2012 against Amir Sadollah at UFC on Fuel TV 5. Hardy stopped fighting after he was diagnosed with a Wolff-Parkinson-White pattern. Diego on the other hand is still fighting professionally in MMA. After being cut off from the UFC roster, Sanchez managed to land a fight against Kevin Lee at Eagle FC. Sanchez lost the fight via unanimous decision.

After the announcement of the Hardy vs Sanchez boxing match, Dan spoke about his upcoming fight. Dan reveals that a fight against Sanchez was always in the making but just wasn’t materialized. “I was watching him fight the likes of Clay Guida at the Pearl, at the Palms. I’ve got some good memories of Diego’s fights,” said Hardy on his YouTube channel, Full Reptile.

“You know that you’re going to get with him. He’s an animal and comes to scrap every time.” Hardy is confident that he can stop Sanchez but is excited to experience a boxing match in his career. The fans are tuned in to watch the two veterans fight. Though Hardy never fought in the last 10 years, he has been very active in the fighting world, broadcasting events for UFC and also breaking down fights for BT Sport.
