Gordon Ryan underwent a 40-day streak of antibiotics that severely affected his health in some aspects. Ryan was forced to go through physically straining healthcare. This was because a case of strep throat suddenly appeared one day, leaving the grappler incapable of performing even the basic tasks without utter discomfort. The conditions only worsened over time, putting Gordon out of action for many months.

It also brought back some of Gordon’s pre-existing gut problems. These infamous problems had previously nearly ended his career. Ryan mentioned his severe health condition while conversing with UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

In that episode, Gordon told Joe Rogan about his misdiagnosis and how it only prolonged his recovery and worsened things. He took to Instagram to inform his followers about his condition and his competition status.

Even though many people sympathized with his condition and wished him a speedy recovery, many were quick to accuse the incredible grappler of steroid usage.
