Tito Ortiz and Cris Cyborg remain among the highly popular fighters in MMA. Tito had a huge fan following in the early days of the UFC, and Cyborg pioneered the women’s MMA. The duo will team up for a movie Operation Black Ops that will release in July. The film’s name caught the fans’ attention on social media.

Tito Ortiz has made multiple appearances in films and television series in minor roles. However, Operations Black Ops will be the first time he acts as the star attraction. His rival Randy Couture worked in the Expendable series, and Tito will look to make a name for himself with his upcoming movie. Tito is a controversial figure, and moviemakers may have looked to capitalize on his popularity.

Damon Martin of MMA Fighting broke the news of the film. He wrote, “New film starring Tito Ortiz and Cris Cyborg out July 11. Here’s the plot: A group of mercenaries are hired to overthrow a Neo-Nazi stronghold nestled deep in the heart of Texas, only to discover they are protecting nuclear codes that could ignite World War III.” The premise looks exciting, and the movie will consist of many action sequences.

Cris Cyborg has not retired from MMA, unlike Ortiz. She has yet to fight in over a year after her decision victory over Arlene Blencowe. Since leaving the UFC in 2019, Cyborg has dominated all contenders in Bellator. Cyborg will capitalize on the movie role opposite Ortiz to build a career after retirement. She ranks in the upper echelon of the greatest female fighters in the sport’s history.

The movie name Operation Black Ops can be called Operation Black Operation. The word  Ops means operations, and fans pointed this out on Twitter. Someone even asked if Tito had named the film. They laughed about the ridiculousness of the title. Check out some of the fan reactions:

The film will release in July 2023. The MMA community trolls Tito on various occasions, and depending on his performance, fans might come back to troll him yet again. On the other hand, this is a new opportunity for Cyborg to explore, as some fans felt that one of the greatest female fighters deserved such an opportunity.
