There are very few parent-child duos in MMA due to the sport’s relatively short history. Nonetheless, some children of top stars have shown promise. Former UFC champion Frank Mir‘s daughter Isabella is an elite competitor in collegiate wrestling. The UFC recently signed her as an NIL ambassador. Former Bellator champion AJ McKee‘s father was also an MMA fighter but not as successful as AJ. Conor McGregor has an interest in making his son Conor Jr. a fighter.

Recently, a video of a pre-teen wrestling match went viral on social media. In the video, a kid in a blue singlet slams and hurts his opponent. Incidentally, the kid was the son of Gerald Harris, an ex-UFC fighter who made his name in the MMA world with slam knockouts. In the video, Harris’ son picked up his opponent in the air and, after a split second, dropped him on his back. The slam caused the other kid’s leg to bend backward and possibly injured it as the kid screamed in pain.

Even though the slam was awesome to match, it was an illegal move in amateur wrestling. However, it did not come as a surprise as the kid’s father is none other than Gerald Harris. Harris competed in the UFC four times and compiled a 3-1 record; all his victories came via finish, with one of those via slam. Even before the UFC, Harris has had a couple of slam knockouts. Moreover, he also had slam knockouts after his release from the UFC.

In addition to the kid in the video, Harris has an older son, Boogie. Boogie is a high schooler and has even won state championships in wrestling. Interestingly, Boogie has even coached his father in a wrestling tournament.
