Everybody despises unsportsmanlike behavior. When these videos go viral on the internet, it is pretty clear that absolutely nobody appreciates such behavior. One such clip of two young wrestlers gained traction on the internet. It featured an unwarranted sucker punch delivered after a match.

The disturbing incident unfolded in Oak Park, Illinois. The teenage wrestler sucker punched his opponent after losing the match. Reportedly, the aggressor’s name is Hafid Alicea. After the fight, the two opponents came face-to-face to shake each other’s hand, which was when Alicea suddenly punched Cooper Corder, his opponent. Hafid reportedly lost the match 14-2. The incident took place at the ”2023 Beat the Streets Developmental FS tournament,” where Corder from SPAR Academy and Alicea from Maine West High School both participated.

Cooper Corder reportedly suffered injuries from the sucker punch– specifically around his nose where Alicea landed the punch. Reportedly, he wears a face mask during games. No clear reports of disciplinary action against the aggressor, Hafid Alicea, have yet been found. However, authorities did call the police, who reportedly conducted a preliminary investigation. According to SPAR Academy’s founder Justin Pearch’s statement to TMZ, he has already returned to training.

Pearch told TMZ that wrestling matches could get heated. However, he did acknowledge that nothing could justify such reckless behavior from Hafid. He said it was not tolerated in the sport, and Spar Wrestling would never condone such behavior.
