The popularity of MMA has risen in recent years. One of the main reasons for this is undoubtedly Dana White and the UFC. Moreover, the allure of a fighter with expertise in striking, wrestling, and grappling is also notable. Furthermore, this has made common people take up martial arts for self-defense. It usually helps them in dangerous situations like an unpredictable street fight.

Sometimes, people record instances of common people using martial arts to defend themselves. More often than not, they upload it on social media and get millions of views. One such video went viral recently. In the video, a man attacked a streamer. The streamer was talking to the man’s girlfriend. The man went to attack the streamer as he felt offended by one of the questions the streamer. Therefore, he immediately went to attack the streamer.

Interestingly, the man’s girlfriend had no problem with the question. She went on and said multiple times that she had no problem with the question. However, the boyfriend was adamant. Nonetheless, the fight hit the ground, and the streamer locked onto the boyfriend’s leg. The boyfriend landed some ground-and-pound shots, but the streamer eventually got a leg lock. Interestingly, the streamer did not try to break the boyfriend’s leg. Moreover, he tried to make peace with his boyfriend as they were in a neutral position.

The video showed the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a street fight. BJJ is an effective skill in MMA. Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira submitted Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje in title fights. However, sometimes, fighters with superior wrestling skills counter BJJ moves. Islam Makhachev used his wrestling to neutralize Oliveira’s BJJ at UFC 280.
