“Bagnaia is finished,” Twitter reacts as Enea Bastianini denies Pecco Baganaia his fifth consecutive win with a photo finish in Aragon
Enea Bastianini and Pecco Bagnaia Ducati
The Aragon GP was one to watch as the riders went on to put on an amazing and equally dramatic outing in front of the fans. Gresini Racing rider Enea Bastianini achieved his fourth victory of the season after an intense last lap battle with his future Ducati teammate. It was going to be Pecco Bagnaia’s fifth win in a row with the team but unfortunately he wasn’t able to achieve it.
Ducati Factory rider Pecco Bagnaia had started on pole and hoped to convert it into a victory but all he could do at the start was achieve an early lead. A dramatic opening lap incident meant that Fabio Quartararo was out through no fault of his own. Marc Marquez suffered a rear tyre slide and left Fabio with nowhere to go. Marc further went on to have another incident and this time with Takaaki Nakagami which he somehow recovered from but further went into the pits to retire.
Pecco Bagnaia was initially put under pressure by Ktm Factory rider Brad Binder although this died down and furthermore his future teammate Enea Bastianini came into play. Putting pressure on the rider till the end, the Gresini racing rider dove down the inside of his Bagnaia at Turn 7 on the last lap of the Grand Prix. After this move he managed to hold on for his fourth win of the season by 0.042s sending the fans into ruptures.

Twitter reacts to a blistering and nerve racking 2022 Aragon GP with Enea Bastianini being the first to cross the chequered flag
It seemed like Pecco Bagnaia was in line to take his 5th win in a row for this season but with Enea Bastianini always behind him, it seemed a bit improbable. The finish was nerve racking and totally unpredictable. With Quartararo having a bad day and Aleix Espargaro finishing on the podium, it feels like the fight for the title has just become more intense with the last few rounds determining who will win the championship.
