The 2023 MotoGP season has been nothing but a nightmare for Fabio Quartararo. Having won the championship back in 2021, there were a lot of hopes for the French rider to start his own era of dominance like Marc Marquez. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to have gone according to the plan as the Yamaha rider has been struggling a lot for the past few years.
In a bizarre turn of events, Fabio Quartararo has cut all ties with his MotoGP manager Eric Mahe. This has happened whilst the Yamaha rider continues to suffer a string of heartbreaks this year. Eric is also nowhere to be seen in Mugello this weekend. With Pecco Bagnaia winning the championship last year, the French rider was even more determined to win this year.
With multiple complications with the bike, Fabio’s dreams of dominating like Marc Marquez seem to have been destroyed following the loss of his manager. The two go way back wherein Eric was the one who secured Fabio’s deal with Yamaha for 2021 season. During Friday practice Quartararo finished in P15 which is not a surprising result for the French rider this year.
Fabio Quartararo talks about his Mugello MotoGP weekend so far
In an interview, here is what he had to say. “My feelings are not the best. I have to try to have a good time on the bike, which is not happening right now. I don’t have confidence in the front end,” he said. I try to stay calm, because in the end, getting angry every time will not help to improve our performance,” the French driver continued following a horrid attempt to get out of Q1.
The shocking split between Fabio Quartararo and his manager Eric Mahe comes just a year after Marc Marquez split up with his longtime Moto GP manager. The Frenchman has stated that he is feeling more calm this race weekend compared to LeaMans. It will be interesting to see how the Yamaha rider combs through the track each and every single race.
