It’s not every weekend that you get a new winner in Formula One which made this Sunday even more special as Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz won his first ever race in Formula One and what an honour it is to win it whilst wearing the legendary red overalls. It’s something that almost every racer has on their list of things to accomplish in their career.

“The first victory of many!,” Marc Marquez on Sainz’s first ever F1 win
First corner crashes, enthralling overtakes, protestors and a safety car along with major troubles for the two title contenders, the Silverstone GP was one worth watching. Carlos Sainz started from pole position and finished the race in the same position whilst Sergio Perez finished second followed by the home race hero Lewis Hamilton completing the podium. Max Verstappen and Charles did not have the best of days in the cockpit with the former finishing in P7 by just edging out Mick Schumacher during the last lap while the latter lost his chance at victory due to a safety car.
All of Spain must be overjoyed with the race results as Fernando Alonso finished P5 to make it a sweet evening for all. Winning at what was Lewis Hamilton’s home race where he has won eight times before must have given the Spaniard a great deal of satisfaction. The Smooth Operator will surely be celebrating this for a while.
