MotoGP is on the road to capturing the attention of a younger audience. The new film is titled “Idols” and will be based on three world championship categories, MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3. Warner Bros will co-produce this feature film to be released in 2025. While some parts of the film will recreate the races, others will be shot particularly for the film during the Grand Prix weekends.

The film’s chief character is a Moto2 rider. He starts from the FIM junior GP series and goes to the world championship. The protagonist gets an opportunity to compete in a MotoGP wildcard race at the end of the season. The movie is targeted at a young audience. The theme for the film is a high-action youth drama, out-of-the-world romance, and a wild adventure.

Warner Bros will be in charge of the international distribution and will produce with Mogambo and 4CATS. Along with them, the film will also be produced by Andrew Eaton, a director. He is well known for the movie “Rush” among other popular ones. “Rush,” a Formula 1-based movie, centers around the intense rivalry between the icons James Hunt and Niki Lauda

The MotoGP teams and sponsors are thrilled with the initiative, as the aim is to attract a younger audience. This new MotoGP project comes after the announcement of the upcoming movie based on Formula 1. Hollywood icon Brad Pitt, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and the famous director Joe Kosinski are involved in this project. The team behind Top Gun: Maverick featuring the star Tom Cruise, is behind this new F1 project. Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton is the producer and consultant. Though the project’s name has not been announced yet, it is safe to say it is a much-anticipated film.

The new F1 movie is set to start production soon from Silverstone as its base. Some shots will feature real race events, and the filming will have a regular schedule. Pitt, the producer, and director, met with the F1 team bosses last season at the Austin GP. There is an ongoing discussion about how the teams will be involved with the movie. The film will undoubtedly help promote the sport, like how DTS has contributed. However, CEO Stefano Domenicali has revealed that F1 must control the production to not interfere with the races.
