“My young British KING”: Twitter goes crazy reacting to George Russell’s first-ever career pole at Hungaroring

As the Hungarian GP weekend is already underway, Ferrari seem to be set upon a path of redemption after their only Championship hope–Charles Leclerc–lost out on a guaranteed race victory due to a crash which resulted from problems with the throttle of his car. The Circuit at Hungaroring has never been particularly favorable for the Red Bulls as the last time the British team got a race win here was back in 2018 with Daniel Ricciardo behind the wheels of the winning car. Fans saw some heated racing during the Qualifying Session where George Russell went ahead to grab pole position for the Main Race tomorrow.

The Grand Prix in Budapest will be the last race for this F1 calendar before the beginning of the summer break, hence the teams have gone all out to make sure they go into the vacation with some precious points on the table.

The Scuderia Ferrari have shown some serious pace during today’s Qualis, but it must be borne in mind that Charles Leclerc has the most number of pole positions in this season but still, he is second to Max Verstappen in the number of race wins. This means that although Ferrari has got the Qualifying pace, their race performance still shows some room for improvement.

The F1 Twitter has been following the Qualifying Session closely after the astonishing results that came up during the FP3 round. But unfortunately for FP3 leader Nicholas Latifi, he could not even make it out of Q1 during the Qualis as Latifi, Tsunoda, Gasly, Vettel and Albon were the first ones to be eliminated from the Qualis. During Q2, we lost Sergio Perez of Red Bull, which was quite a shock as his teammate Verstappen led the round with a 0.065 s gap to Championship rival Charles Leclerc.

But while all eyes were on the two Red Bulls and the two Ferraris and it was almost certain that Carlos Sainz would get the pole position at Hungaroring, George Russell surprised all by grabbing his first pole position in his F1 career.

Here are what the fans are saying about the shocking results of the Hungarian GP–
