The No:42 Chevy Camaro ZL1 team 2023 season is going from bad to worse, and the first half of the postponed Michigan Cup race was no different. Junior Motorsports Xfinity Series driver Josh Berry, who replaced Legacy MC’s full-time driver Noah Gragson for the event, crashed hard into the wall on stage one of the race.
Late into stage one of FireKeepers Casino 400, Berry, who is set to replace Kevin Harvick in the No:4 Stewart Haas Racing team in 2024, wrecked his Chevy during an aggressive restart. His car got loose and shot up the track to the outside wall. The No:42 Chevy came down the track, finally stopping in the infield grass.
Josh Berry, who established himself as the super-sub of the 2023 season, got the Cup call following the unfortunate suspension of rookie Gragson. The 2022 Xfinity Series runner-up was sidelined after it was found that he liked a post on social media, a meme that mocked the death of George Floyd, who was killed by the police.
But even changing the driver wasn’t enough to save the team. He has scored just two top-20 finishes from 20 races this season. Twelve of those finishes were P30 or worse for the rookie. The situation is much worse when results produced by his teammate are factored in. Erik Jones in the No:43 car secured four top 10s and seven top 20s.

Here is how fans on social media reacted to the incident

NASCAR fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the incident of Josh Berry. Some quickly labeled it a Karama moment, while others pointed out the poor cars the No:42 team has made every driver who has raced for them miserable.
