The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Sonoma was the dramatic one. The race featured a multi-car wreck that involved multiple contenders with just 30 laps left in the race and even after the race there were some drama. Kaulig Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen secured back-to-back win on Saturday at Sonoma and marked his third career NASCAR win.
The Trackhosue Racing driver celebrated the victory in style as he did an impressive one lap burnout like he did the previous week at Portland. But this time he wasn’t able to complete the burnout properly as a block from RCR’s Austin Hill during the cool-down lap killed the fun. But the Kiwi driver was calm about as he went onto celebrate the win with his now signature rugby ball kick.
When someone asks what inspires my pettiness, I am going to show them this video. pic.twitter.com/a81n0GxPmG

Hill later discussed the encounter he had with the three-time Supercars champion and pointed out that he won’t speak about the incident. He went onto highlight the good race he had with RCR and how he was able to at least for a few laps were able to drive better than Shane van Gisbergen in the superior Kaulig Chevy.
Um, yeah, I don’t know… I plead the Fifth; I’m not going to say anything about it. We’ll just go on to the next one. Good hard racing, the Bennett Chevrolet was as fast as Xfinity internet, we were holding off SVG there for a while. I had that caution, I knew it was going to be tough on the restart, and it didn’t work out but we had a good points day, finished in the top five.Austin Hill said at Sonoma.
Austin Hill is ready to face the online backlash for his move
Before giving the plead the fifth verdict, the RCR star pointed out that he didn’t actually know what happened during the incident. He then took a dig at his online haters and asserted that no mater what he says it would be wrong for the keyboard warriors.
I didn’t really see the replay the best – blacked out – but, you know, I’m just going to leave it to the keyboard warriors on this one; I’ll let them figure out what happened. I’m sure, no matter what comment I say, it’ll be wrong.Austin Hill said.
The Hill-SVG beef hasn’t started today, it has been a highlight since the stat of the season and the year progress it’s only going to increase. Both drivers are in the fight for the championship and aren’t known for yielding on the track, so the dram will continue.
