23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace has revealed how Daniel Suarez broke the news about him becoming a father to him at Vegas.

Spire Motorsports’ Daniel Suarez and wife Julia Piquet made a special announcement on social media. The couple is set to become parents for the first time and is beyond excited about the news. The Mexican-American is set to join the new dad club in the Cup series alongside his close friends Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney.

Ahead of lasts Sunday’s Bristol Cup race, the 23XI Racing driver recalled the moment when Suarez broke the news about the pregnancy to him. It was ahead of the Las Vegas Cup weekend, where the Spire driver stat next to the Toyota driver and talked about him joining the club. Hilariously the TRD driver thought the Chevy racer was mentioning buying a new car.

Obviously, he didn’t tell you our story about it. He told me in Vegas. He sat down next to me and he was like, ‘Hey, I’m joining the club,’ and I took it as a car. I was like, ‘Oh you’re getting a car, sweet! Nice!’ He’s like, ‘Nah,’ and I was like, ‘What?’ He’s talking about having a kid.

So, when Daniel Suarez clarified and explained to him that he was having a baby, Bubba Wallace was really happy. He showed his love by giving a big hug to the racer during the driver intros. At the same time, the racer also didn’t hesitate to take a hilarious dig at the Mexican American, calling Suarez out over his English getting worse.

So, if you see us up on the driver intro stage, I give him a big hug. But I totally went car side. So, I thought that was pretty funny. But super excited for him and Julia. Dan and I have been really close since he came to the states in 2010 or 11, and his english somehow has gotten way f***ing worse. It’s crazy how that goes. But excited for them and the new addition to their family.

Fatherhood is going to make Daniel Suarez a better racer like Bubba Wallace

Becoming a father twice in the last three years has made massive changes in Bubba Wallace’s life and it has made him a better racer, according to him as well as many pundits. Suarez is expecting the same to happen to him, as he admitted that having more fun outside the track will make faster.

Yeah, we’re super excited to start a new chapter in our lives. Super blessed to have Julia…I do believe that this is going to make me faster because it’s going to be more fun outside of the racing stuff.

Piquet and the baby will be the positive distraction Suarez really needs to get out of the emotional struggle’s drivers have after every race week. It will bring a positive mindset for him and will change his racing career for good.

Sometimes when you have a good day or a bad day, you leave the racetrack and then you keep thinking about it, and there is just a few things outside of racing that can get your mind out of it. There is not many of them. And I believe that Julia and the future baby is going to be definitely one of them.

The comments from the veteran racer about parenthood changing people for good seems rational and on point. It would be interesting to see how the 2026 season is going to playout for the No:7 Spire Chevy team.
