23XI Racing star driver Bubba Wallace has had a strong start to the 2026 season. He is currently sitting P2 in the points table behind teammate Tyler Reddick, with top-15 finishes in all five races of the year so far. Alongside the strong run, he has another special reason to be happy about the year.
The TRD driver has become a dad for the second time, as his wife Amanda Wallace gave birth to their daughter Cameron Jade last Thursday. He made the new public, after an impressive qualifying run at the Goodyear 400 at Darlington, where he secured a P2 start position behind his teammate. The revelation was done during his post-race interview that took everyone by surprise including the interviewer.
But I will say that lap for the 23 was driven by Cameron Jade. You know who that is? That’s my baby girl, she was just born. Thursday.

Earlier, before the announcements, the veteran racer also shared his thoughts on teammate Tyler Reddick’s impressive qualifying run that saw the champion racer pushing the limits of the No:45 Toyota. The strong car package and the good momentum he is having since Daytona is helping the racer to run on the edge, while also helping Bubba Wallace to elevate his performance.
That’s Reddick for you. I mean he pushed it to the limits. That was a hell of a lap. Just sitting there watching on the grid, I think it was 6 on the top at the time. Then he went to the top, it was a massive lap. Just proud of the efforts from the team, just continued to ride the momentum from Race 1 to now. Darlington’s super tough. This package is a handful. I thought we were really far off in practice, but we’re pretty close with the 45, so it’s more on me trying to figure it out and get there.
Bubba Wallace told Fox Sports.
Bubba Wallace shares his thoughts on letting drivers fight in NASCAR
One of the biggest points of discussion in the NASCAR community at the moment is about the confrontation that almost became a fist fight last week between Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez. Some have called the sanctioning body to have hockey rules and let the racer fight it out.

Bubba Wallace was asked about it on ahead of the race week and he had a good take. The veteran wants the sport to let the drivers to have a fight to an acceptable limit, before stopping it. This will help the drivers to squash the beef easily as well as offer some entertainment value.
I don’t think so. When you’re done wrong, it’s different for me, and I blame my dad, but also respect how he was. He was an eye-for-an-eye, right? When you’re disrespected, there’s a fine line of being a better person or making sure they don’t do that again… Go to the ground, then you can stop it.
Bubba Wallace said.
Letting drivers have a wild physical fight though isn’t good for the sport and the professionalism they are trying to showcase. It would be interesting to see how things would playout the next time tow NASCAR drivers have a fight after the race.
