The Indy 500 is one of the three crown jewel races in the motorsport’s world, and just like almost every racer around the world, NASCAR drivers also dream about winning the event at Brickyard. For the stock car racing athletes, it opens a special opportunity a.k.a the double duty as the Cup series longest race, the Coca Cola 600 is also hosted the same day.

Hendrick Motorsports 2021 Cup winner Kyle Larson is the most recent driver to attempt the Indy 500, with his debut coming last season and he is set to make his second start this year with the same crew. JGR’s Christopher Bell, one of Larson’s biggest rivals, recently admitted that he has the same dream as the IMS race alongside Daytona 500 was two races everyone loves to get involved.

I do want to drive in the Indy 500… So, the coolest thing to me that I didn’t even realize as a kid growing up about those two events [Daytona 500 and Indy 500] is like that those two events are outside of Motorsports. Like every NASCAR race, you have NASCAR fans watch it.

Christopher Bell said via Rubbin is Racing.

He highlighted in the podcast, how the two events attract fans from all around the world, even casual racing dans and how famous these events are. This gives Indy 500 a lot of priority in his mind and definitely a race he wants to be part of.

Well, Daytona and Indie are like the two events that you have Global worldwide like casual fans that don’t really watch racing, watch those two races because that’s what they know about. So, yeah, I mean that that’s definitely circled on my list to do.

Christopher Bell missed out on an opportunity to make NASCAR history at Vegas

The 2025 NASCAR Cup season so far has been impressive for Christopher Bell, who has been one of the strongest drivers in the garage. He started the season with a good run at the Daytona 500, before starting an impressive win streak with a lucky win at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

In the third race week at COTA, Bell was the among the front runners but not the challenger for the race win before leader Kyle Busch race was ruined owing to a late caution getting him the win. Next week at Phoenix Raceway, he showed his real strength and secured the win with his best run of the season so far.

So, coming into Las Vegas Motor Speedway last week, he was on the verge of securing a fourth straight win and joining an elite list. Bust pit-stop issues and penalties, cost him the opportunity, while Josh Berry secured an historic victory for Wood Brothers Racing.

Christopher Bell isn’t still over race manipulation saga that ruined his 2024 title chase

One of the most controversial incidents from the 2024 season was the alleged race manipulation by Toyota and Chevy at Martinsville R-8 finale. Bell and his HMS rival William Byron was the ones who got the final-4 push support, which resulted in Ross Chastain, Austin Dillon and Bubba Wallace getting punishments. NASCAR also introduced a new rule over the drama.

Byron got the better end of the deal on the day, as a penalty for Hail Melon move from Bell gave the Chevy driver the shot at the championship. Bell via Rubbin is Racing podcast admitted that he is still hurt over the drama and is happy that NASCAR made the rule change.

That Martinsville 2024 is gonna always be in my heart no matter what, no matter how much I want to not live those moments again it’ll always be there… I think that that was a turning point for integrity in the sport and hopefully, I appreciate NASCAR stepping up and changing their rule language to make sure something like that doesn’t happen again.

Christopher Bell said.

The comments from Bell shows, he really thought he had a good shot at winning the race at season finale in 2024 before everything untangled. But with the new rule change, such incidents might not happen again.
