The NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway witnessed Joe Gibbs Racing’s clean sweep of the 2025 playoffs Round of 16. Chase Briscoe won the first race at Darlington, Denny Hamlin won the second week at Gateway and Christopher Bell, who was frustrated for missing out the previous two weeks redeem himself to secure a solid win.

After the race, the No:20 Toyota driver had a strong message to send to the rest of the country. This week marked a dark chapter of US history as 31-year-old conservative media figure, known for his public debates, was assassinated while speaking to students at Utha. Christopher Bell dedicated his win to the late political figure.

Most importantly, this week has obviously been a very tough week, and there’s a lot on our mind. This one is for Charlie.

Christopher Bell said via Motorsport.com.

The JGR driver wasn’t the only one to remember late Kirk in the event. The venue put up the image of the Turning Point USA founder on the big screen remembering him. Chevy team Richard Childress Racing had special decals on their cars driven by Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch, remembering Charlie Kirk. The fans also showed up with signs dedicated to him.

Christopher Bell’s win wasn’t that pretty

In a separate conversation about his race, and the tough battle he had at the end with 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski, bell admitted the biggest challenge he faced on the day. Goodyear gave tires with extra fall off for the weekend the unexpected change to the track temperature made the racing wild.

Talking about it, the TRD driver admitted that he was worried about his tires through out the race and at the end he couldn’t make a decision on which lane to choose in the restart. In his post-race interview Bell had admitted that luck played a big role in his win, owing to the race dynamic change due tie tires.

Well, I’ll tell you what, I was nervous on the two (tires). I didn’t know if I wanted to be on the bottom or the top, and whenever Brad picked the top (lane) didn’t really give me an option. I had to pick the bottom.

Christopher Bell said.

Further talking about the point, he revealed how he takes advantage of the drivers ahead of him pushing the limits of the tires and pushing up the lane, giving him opportunities to make moves. He made some desperate moves underneath that driver and though none of it looked pretty, at the end of the day he got the result he deserved.

All night long, I don’t know, old tires just really, really pushed up in the middle of the corners, so I was hoping that those guys (starting ahead of him) on old tires would push up, and they did. They did, and I was able to get by or get underneath them. It wasn’t pretty there at the end, but we got her done.

Christopher Bell added.

The comments from the TRD driver shows he has gained a lot of confidence and momentum from the victory, going into the playoffs. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the coming years.
