The NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicago streets last weekend featured some wild encounters, with one of the most controversial incidents being the Ross Chastain–Joey Logano drama. Since the occurrence ruined the reigning champion’s race, Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. is expecting a revenge coming sooner than later.
In the final laps of the race, on a restart, Joey Logano found himself driving behind Ross Chastain in an aggressive start. Team Penske’s Austin Cindric made a move that resulted in the No:1 Chevy spinning out. The Trackhouse Racing driver thought it was the No:22 Ford that made the move, hence retaliated in the next corner, resulting in multiple cars spinning out.
Joey Logano was furious post-race and revealed how the Chevy driver admitted it was intentional. Assessing the drama, on the Dale Jr. Download podcast, two times Xfinity Series champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. predicted payback. But he doesn’t expect a big revenge-wreck, instead he sees a mild but costly retaliation.
Joey will probably get Ross back, at some point. It might be a year from now. We might not even notice or recognize it. Something will happen somewhere on the race track that might just be — it might just be Joey air-blocking Ross and costing him a few spots on the restart.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download.
He thinks Joey Logano would make moves like air-blocking and similar, in order to ruin Ross Chastain races and will be happy about it. Junior is hoping that that happens in the upcoming weeks. While it will be the respectful way to take revenge, the season-long beef is part of the sport, and if the ends things with mild retaliation’s, fans will miss that entertainment factor.
It might be something that cost Ross a bunch of spots that we don’t even recognize, we don’t even connect back to this and Joey will be like, ‘Yeah, got your ass.’ … I hope we’re that lucky, that they’re in that sort of scenario in a couple of weeks.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. calls bluff on Joey Logano’s calls to fine Ross Chastain
One of the major comments the furious Joey Logano made post-race was urging NASCAR to fine Ross Chastain as he intentionally caused the wreck. The sanctioning body has previously fined Denny Hamlin over similar admissions.

He admitted it! He admitted he wrecked me! Which means he should get fined if he wrecked me on purpose!
Joey Logano said.
Talking about these comments, Dale Jr. asserted that Joey Logano didn’t want Chastain to actually get fined. The reason for his public comments was nothing more than to just expose the fact that the No:1 Chevy wrecked him on purpose.
Ross [Chastain] would have to do that publicly. And Joey [Logano] knows that. But Joey doesn’t really want him fined. Joey just needed a reason to publicly say he admitted wrecking me.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.
NASCAR seems to have made the same assertion as they decided not to penalize Ross Chastain for the retaliation. It would be interesting to see how the drama and beef between the two is going to playout in the coming races.
