Drivers confronting each other and having heated exchanges has always been part of the Las Vegas Cup race weekend, as the sin city seems to always gets the worst out of a racer. This weekend it was the former Trackhouse Racing teammates Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez that had a wild beef on Sunday.

The duo made contract with each other multiple time throughout the race, with two incidents being key for the confrontation. On stage two of the race Suarez made a questionable move on Chastain and made contact. With just four laps left in the race, they came together yet again and the latter almost ran his ex-teammate to the wall.

The duo finished the race P17 and P18. As soon as they parked the cars, the Spire Motorsports driver got out of his car and came to confront former partner. They had an animated exchange that ended with Chastain showing the Mexican American and they getting immediately separated by the people in the garage. Fortunately, not physical altercation happened.

It was not the first time the duo had had similar incident, as in the four years they were teammates they have had confronted each other publicly. On his post-race interview, the No:7 Chevy driver called out The No:1 chevy racer. Daniel Suarez highlighted how their relationship was always weird and how Ross Chastain always acted two-faced with him.

We got together a little bit in Corner 2, and he was mad about it. He just said something. Our relationship has been always very weird, like a little bit of two-faced for some reason.

Daniel Suarez said after the race.

Daniel Suarez insists he won’t change despite the controversies

Further talking about the point on the same interview, the Chevy driver pointed out that he learned what exactly Chastain thinks about him during the confrontation. He latter asserted that he still doesn’t have any hard feelings for his ex-teammate.

And today I saw actually what I thought he had in his mind for a while. But I don’t have any hard feelings to anyone. I’m doing my thing, having a great time. It’s just sad that he thinks that way.

Daniel Suarez said.

It hasn’t been the first time Suarez has had beef with other drivers, as just like Chastain he has a history of aggressive racing and confrontations. It was this aggression that helped him climb the NASCAR leader despite being an outsider and he has no plans to change it.

This is not my first rodeo. I have had to go through a lot to be able to get to this point. That’s just the way I am. That’s the journey I had to take to be able to come from a different country.

Daniel Suarez added.

The incident might not be only reason for the confrontation as; Daniel Suarez was let go from Trackhouse last season and the comments from both sides after that showed there was a big fallout between them.  There is an animosity among them and with the duo now having similar cars in terms of capability in 2026, this rivalry might grow much more.
