Mexican driver Daniel Suarez established himself as a household name in NASCAR during his time at Trackhouse Racing. The 33-year-old has been part of the project since the team’s beginnings since 2021. Thus, the NASCAR garage was shocked to hear Suarez’s decision to leave the team at the end of this year. Now, he has shed light on the reason for his exit.
When Suarez announced his exit from Trackhouse, the driver and the team had claimed that it was done as part of a mutual agreement. The team’s owner Justin Marks only had good words for the Mexican driver. On the other hand, the 33-year-old insisted that his fans should be more focused on the next chapter of his career.
There has been no news of Daniel Suarez‘s new team just yet. It seems that the Mexican driver made this career-changing decision due to some off-track reasons. Suarez claimed that his new crew chief Matt Swiderski pointed out a lot that was wrong within the team. The 33-year-old tried to bring these issues to the team’s attention. However, according to Suarez, his concerns were seemingly ignored, making him feel less important within the garage. This could’ve been the trigger behind his exit.
Since my new crew chief (Matt Swiderski) came to Trackhouse, he told me a lot of things that he didn’t think were right within the organization, and a lot of things that needed to be changed. And I’ve been very vocal with the team, ‘We need to adjust this, we need to adjust that.’ […] I don’t think that’s the only reason, but I think lately, there have been things that have made me feel like I’m not as important.
Daniel Suarez told Bob Pockrass.
Results say Ross Chastain has run better than Daniel Suarez at Trackhouse. So the question is why. I asked Suarez, who won't be back at Trackhouse next year, about that and he had some thoughts. He said Chastain is a great driver but also Suarez felt his voice wasn't being heard. pic.twitter.com/WlRyfTeSct

Daniel Suarez laments parting ways with Trackhouse Racing
While Suarez has made the decision to find greener pastures himself, it is still sad to see the 33-year-old leave the team. Fans are disappointed over the entire ordeal. However, Suarez has insisted that he didn’t want this to happen either.

A major problem for the Mexican driver was the team’s inconsistency. Daniel Suarez pointed out that the performance disparity was so high that he would never know if he’ll finish in P5 or P25. The 33-year-old confessed that he had hoped to complete his entire career at Trackhouse Racing. But things have changed drastically. So much so, that he needs to find a new team which could make him feel like being at home once again.
We are extremely inconsistent. Like if today, in practice, we’re top five, I won’t be surprised. But if we’re 25th, I won’t be surprised either… I really wanted to finish my career there. But a lot of things have changed… I just want to find that home again.
Daniel Suarez added.
Daniel Suarez has made his emotions clear over his Trackhouse Racing exit. The Mexican driver’s comments show that not all is okay within the garage. Suarez lost the feeling of being part of a family, something that could never come back. Fans would hope that the 33-year-old soon signs a deal with a better team for the 2026 season.
