One of the major topics of discussion coming into the 2025 Cup Series season was the future of Mexican American racer Daniel Saurez with Trackhouse Racing. The dust is settled, and the verdict has come out on the situation. The veteran racer has announced that he will end his journey with the Chevy team at the end of this season, hoping to start a new chapter somewhere else.

The announcement was made via the official social media pages of Daniel Suarez in a statement, before Trackhouse also released a statement. The NASCAR community knew the exit was in the horizon, considering Ross Chastain’s un-droppable stature, Shane van Gisbergen getting wins in his rookie year Conor Zilisch proving he is Cup ready.

But still there has been some drama on social media, and Suarez has addressed the situation in his recent appearance after the announcement on Sirius XM Radio. He asserted that he isn’t sad about the situation and is ready for the new chapter of his racing career. The veteran is adamant that he isn’t sad about the most successful stint of his Cup career coming to an end.

I want to make sure that you guys and all the people listening (know) I’m not sad for this. This is just a new chapter. That’s all it is. … This is not a sad moment, it’s just a change.

Daniel Suarez said via Sirius XM Radio.

Further talking about the situation, Saurez pointed out that the exit has been decided weeks ago and the team was waiting fir the right moment to break the news, giving him enough time to move on and work on his future. He is now happy the announcement is public and is moving forward with the future.

This is not something new for me. I have known about this for awhile. It just happens to be official today. I’m actually a little bit relieved it’s already out and people know about it and we can talk about it and we can move forward with future plans.

Trackhouse and I have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2025 season. I’ve had some of the best years of my Cup Series career at Trackhouse. We had great successes as a team and I gained some incredible friends.

Daniel Suárez wrote on X.

Further talking about the point, he highlighted the part he played in making the 2021 build team to a mid-field side to consistent race winners in a handful of years alongside his teammates. He is hopeful about both him and his No:99 having great days ahead of them.

We took a team nobody had even heard of in 2021 and in just a couple of years we were winning races and running upfront on a weekly basis. Just like the seasons in a year, sometimes things change and we have agreed to each go in our own direction. I wish Trackhouse nothing but the best, this 99 team will always be special to me. And like I always say, the best is ahead.

Daniel Suárez added.

Going into the 2026 season, Suarez most probably will sign with a new team, as he is proven trace winner and is capable of attracting some huge sponsors. The major issue though is the fact that the Mexican racers stints with the big-name teams or consistent race winners is almost over.
