Defending champion Michael McDowell tops the Friday practice session of Daytona 500

Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing drivers Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher swept Thursday night’s Bluegreen Vacations Duels earning them front poles behind Hendricks Motorsports drivers reigning Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson and his teammate Alex Bowmen in Sundays “Great American Race”.
34 of the 40 cars hit the Daytona International Speedway for Friday practice sessions which ended without any incidents. Drivers were keen to keen to understand drafting with the car which produced some pretty close calls.
Ford came out top in the practice session as they swept the top 5 with Bubba Wallace and Noah Gragson being the only non-Ford drivers in the top 10. Defending Daytona 500 champion Michael McDowell finished at the top with the best speed of 192.678mph alongside Todd Gilliland at P2 with the best sped 192.36mph

Out of 34 drivers entered track former champion Kurt Busch was the one who finished at the back along side Joey Logano just one spot ahead of him. Bubba Wallace finished P7 and the Thursday duel champion Brad Keselowski only finished at P5. Sundays pole holders Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman finished p22 and p24 respectively.
