Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch made the North Wilkesboro All-Star race one of the most dramatic races of the 2024 season. Everything started on lap one of the races, where the No:47 Chevy in a three wide battle made the No:8 RCR Chevy make contact with the wall before overtaking him.  It made Busch really frustrated.

The two times Cup champion took his revenge and wrecked Stenhouse Jr. on lap two and ended the JTGD Racing drivers’ day. Frustrated with the early exit, the 2023 Daytona 500 winner confronted the RCR driver post-race and it ended in Stenhouse punching the veteran. Kyle Busch and the latter had to be separated by the crew and NASCSAR personals.

While talking about the incident, JGR’s Denny Hamlin pointed out that Stenhouse was already ready for the altercation considering he announced via his post-wreck interview that he will talk with Busch. He highlighted that the former is one of the stand-up humans in the garage who is ready to do what he says.

Before his face-to-face with Kyle, he put himself in a box. He put himself in a box on TV by saying he was going to do something. Ricky is one of those stand-up humans that when he tells you he’s going to do something, he’s probably going to do it.

Denny Hamlin gives verdict on his All-Star race outing

The No:11 JGR Toyota was in the contention for the race win the whole day, but unfortunately, he couldn’t make the final pass on Joey Logano for the win. Though disappointed with the P2 finish, he admitted that he had a fun day.

It’s incredible how well the tires hold up. It’s live and learn. Certainly, coming in second, I don’t think it pays anything, but at least we had some fun today.

The race lacked a lot of action upfront because the tiers were really long-lasting, hence the Busch-Stenhouse clash gave it some story line. But at the same time, the altercation also took the focus away from conversation about the tiers.
