Alex Bowman won his first race in 2022 edging his teammate and defending champion Kyle Larson in the last lap of Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas following a wheel-to-wheel battle in overtime. Team Hendrik’s top finish comes from a risky strategy they undertook by opting to change only 2 tires before the final restart.
But Alex Bowman’s win and team Hendricks’s top 3 finish came at the cost of Joe Gibbs Racing duo Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. Busch and Truex Jr was leading the pack with just three laps to go until Erick Jones crashed his car bringing out the restart and they were only able to exit the pit behind 3 Hendriks drivers.
Kyle Busch was unable to retake the lead to himself as Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson kept their places safe with the former coming out victorious and Busch finishing in P4 at the chequered flag. Following this Kyle Busch went on an angry rant at Bowman through his radio, find out what it is.

“Great Ethel M Chocolates Toyota Camry TRD today. Was good, fast there at the end,” Kyle Busch told FOX Sports.
“Trying to do just what I could do to hold the lead there with [Martin Truex Jr.]. Felt like I inched away finally, we were coming to the white — I don’t know what it was. But anyway, wasn’t meant to be. Not our day. See you next week,” Kyle Busch added.
