Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and Joey Logano
Defending cup series champion Kyle Larson picked up his first win in 2022 at Auto Club Speedway Fontana winning the Wise Power 400 but it’s was not just his win that made headlines after the race. The NASCAR community is still having debates picking a side in the on-track incident between Kyle Larson and teammate Chase Elliott in California.
Kyle Larson pinched Team Hendriks partner Chase Elliott, who was making an advancement from outside, to the wall and went on to win the race eventually. Chase Elliott spun in the track following the incident which some claim to have done deliberately to sabotage Kyle Larson’s win finish P26 in the chequered flag way behind his teammates.
Now 2018 NASCAR cup series champion Joey Logano, who previously had to go to such team dram has come out expressing his concerns about the team dynamic and subsequent drama within team Hendriks has the potential to destroy the team if they don’t fix it soon.

Joey Logano points out that having a teammate drama is among the worst things that can happen to you on track as you don’t have any other choice than to fix the issue among the teammate because it’s hard to get away from it. He went on to say team Hendricks faces a tricky situation where the crew is forced to take the side after the incident which Logano believes will destroy them as a team.
“It’s tough, and it’s awful. If I’m being honest, it is the worst when you have teammate drama. I hate being in drama anyways, but I’m in it because I race hard, and I try to win. But I don’t like it, and when it’s with a teammate, it’s even worse because you can’t get away from it. You have to fix it. You just have to. I don’t know how, but you have to because your teammates,” Joey Logano said.
“Hendrick is not one team anymore. There are two sides. Until they can fix it, there’s the 5, and there’s the 9. And everyone is forced to pick aside. It’s like when your friends get divorced…And everyone is going to see it in different ways. And that will destroy a race team quickly. Point blank. It will,” Joey Logano added.

Joey Logano went on to say the difference in opinion will cause an internal competition within the team something he believes to be awful pointing out the incidents he had with his former teammate Brad Keselowski in the past. He went on to add that he expect the same instances to occur more this year because of the similarities among cars in the grid and within the team.
“Because now everyone’s got their own opinion. Everyone’s talking about each other behind each other’s back. Now it’s a big competition internally of who’s going to beat who. It’s awful. I’ve been through it. It’s just not fun,” Joey Logano said.
“It’s going to happen a lot this year, I think because these cars are very much the same. Even from team to team, but internally, the cars are identical for the most part,” Joey Logano added.
