He also thought it would be great if he could get more time to make his feet wet with the Truck Series and understand the machine and the road ahead of the Grand Prix on Monday. The former champion who will drives in both the Truck Series and Cup Series felt like it would be really good to get his hands on the vehicle apart from the simulator training.

Kyle Busch added that he’s a perfectionist and would love to get that extra time to take notes and educate himself a bit more about how it is apart from the simulator and that he’d like to make the most of his limited time left.

“I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so it will be nice to have some extra track time to work on my car and get some experience and also have just a little bit more knowledge of what it’s like beyond what we do in our sim and other ways we prepare for races and the limited practice time we will have,” added Kyle Busch.

“It’s a different preparation week for the road courses than it is anything else,” Kevin Harvick believes a lesser practice time insert more burden on drivers in COTA

Kevin Harvick aka “Happy Harvick” who sports the No.4 for Stewart Haas Racing in the Cup Series seems to be a bit edgy with his race at Austin coming up soon. He feels that a lot of effort should be put into road-course races in contrast to the races on the regular ovals.

Circuit of The Americas has Kevin Harvick stumbled as he requires to have everything memorized before he actually gets onto the track for practice. He says that a driver should spend much more time on the simulator, take notes, memorize shift points, and have the line picked in mind before racing on the track.

“There’s just a lot more time that goes into a road-race week. You have to spend a lot of time in the simulator. You have to spend a lot of time with your previous notes and make sure you have the shift points and all the things that you remember as far as curbs you need to hit and things you don’t need to hit, where you need to be on the racetrack,” says Kevin Harvick.

Kevin Harvick further added that one has to blend into the new cars with its feedback in a short amount of time and that the prep week for road courses is much different and requires more effort as compared to other tracks.

“You’re going to have to blend that into also trying to do it in a short amount of time and get something out of those practices to give some feedback about the cars. It’s a different preparation week for the road courses than it is anything else,” Kevin Harvick added.
