Hendrick Motorsports over the years has fielded cars for some of the biggest stars the sports have ever seen. 2020 Cup champion Chase Elliott and Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. are the most famous driver, in terms of loyal fanbase, ever to race for the team. Recently, drivers of Joe Gibbs Racing, was asked find the best of the two.

2014 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick, who retired in 2023, sat down with JGR drivers Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Ty Gibbs and Christopher Bell for an interview as part of his Fox Sports show. There he asked to find the bets driver between Chase Elliott and Dale Earnhardt Jr. The question fist went to Hamlin, who is good friends with Junior. He chose Elliott and other followed suit.

Denny Hamlin reminded Harvick that it was “wrong for you to ask me that” before answering and said Elliott is the better one. Ty Gibbs backed the No:9 Chevy driver as well and Martin Truex Jr. Did the same highlighting Elliott’s championship win. When Bell was asked about it, he backed Bill Elliott’s son as well.  The No:11 Toyota driver later joked that they all chose the active racer of the two as they still have to face him.

Kevin Harvick choses the best driver between NASCAR legends

The ex-SHR driver is known always being active on social media, especially X to always be interactive with fans. Recently he asked by a fan to chose the bets driver among seven times Cup champion Jimmie Johnson and four-time Cup champion Jeff Gordon. Surprisingly he chose the later

He was then asked by another fan about the legendary Richard Petty versus Dale Earnhardt Sr. debate. Kevin Harvick chose the ex-RCR driver over Petty who has won over 200 Cup races in the sport.   

The future Hall of Famer has made some bold choices which he can’t be blamed for as choosing the best driver who had their peaks in different era is always a subjective topic. Choosing Gordon over Johnson is bit debatable considering the latter was always ahead of the No:24 Chevy when they were teammates at HMS.
