The NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond saw a controversial ending as Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon defeated Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin to secure the win alongside a place in the play-off. Desperate time calls for desperate measures, and Dillon who was P32 in the points table did exactly that to score his first win in two years.
Austin Dillon wrecked both Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin on the final corner un overtime on the way to the victory. Both veterans were furious with the No:3 Chevy drivers’ action and shared their opinion on post-race interview. While Hamlin kept his conversation civil, Logano went all out with his words.

No, when you get that far ahead, three four car lengths ahead in three. I didn’t back up the entry, I was like, ‘I’ll just wrap the bottom here, I’m good.’ And he just drives in so hard.Joey Logano said via Sportsnaut.
The Team Penske driver believes the Chevy driver did everything deliberately and knew the only way to win was to wreck both No:22 and No:11 cars. He called the RCR driver a “piece of cr*p” for racing him like that when he raced fair and asserted that Dillon su**ed his whole career in the premier stock car racing series.
Obviously, he didn’t make the turn because he hit me and the 11 was going to win the race. So, he had no intention to race. I beat him fair and square on the restart and he just pulled a chickenshit move. He’s a piece of cr*p, he su**s. He’s su**ed his whole career, and now he’s going to be in the playoffs and good for him, I guess.Joey Logano added.
Austin Dillon shares his side of the story
In his post-race interview Dillon kept things simple and approached everything with a positive mindset. He pointed out that while his contact with Logano was intentional, wrecking Hamlin was more of reaction. Dillon asserted that it happened because the No:11 suddenly came across.

When I was coming back, the 11 (Hamlin) was coming, and that was kind of a reaction. The 22 (Logano) was trying to get him loose. But the 11 was more of a reaction, and I wasn’t lifting at that point because I was more looking at where the 22 was. When the 11 came across it was just a reaction.Austin Dillon said.
The former Xfinity Series champion took the risk and its paid off for him. But now it’s the time for him reflect on that and be ready for the results on and off the track. It would be interesting see how the saga would unfold in the coming years.
