NASCAR star Daniel Suarez parted ways with Trackhouse Racing for 2026. The Mexican driver has been part of the Chevy team from their day one of operations. However now the team decided not to continue with Suarez, owing to his recent straggles. The 33-year-old is yet to sign a deal for next season with a new team. Now, NASCAR reporter Jordan Bianchi has given a reality check over the racer’s future options.

Daniel Suarez made it clear that he was not happy with the way he was treated at Trackhouse Racing in the past few months. The 33-year-old did not feel important or valued anymore. Thus, a change of teams will benefit the Mexican driver as he can finally feel at home once again.

Though, it seems that there are very limited opportunities left in the Cup Series for next season, possibly forcing Suarez to go back to a full-time Xfinity campaign. Jordan Bianchi claimed that the Mexican driver is in a dire spot as there are barely any opportunities available. He insisted that most of the 36 full-time entries have already been confirmed.

Bianchi reckoned that it would be smarter for Daniel Suarez to go back to Xfinity Series full-time in 2026 before coming back to the Cup Series next season. This would allow the 33-year-old to keep competing in NASCAR while he waited for the right opportunity in the top tier category of the sport.

Unfortunately for Suarez, he’s entering free agency at a time when not a lot of viable options exist, Nearly all 36 full-time seats are already taken for next season. This is why many within the industry thought Suárez’s best opportunity to reset his career was to take a ride in NASCAR’s second-tier Xfinity Series, likely with Kaulig Racing or JR Motorsports, then re-enter free agency a year from now in what is anticipated to be a much more robust market..

Jordan Bianchi names one Cup Series option for Daniel Suarez

While it seems that the Mexican driver would be better off waiting for the right chance in 2027, there might still be an opportunity available. Jordan Bianchi outlined a potential scenario which could help Daniel Suarez as well as Spire Motorsports.

Spire Motorsports is yet to confirm Justin Haley for 2026. There are rumors that Haley may be shown the door after the end of the season. Such a possibility would make Daniel Suarez the ideal pick for the team. Jordan Bianchi reckoned that Suarez would serve as the perfect veteran for Spire, as the 33-year-old has already proved his worth with multiple race victories.

One potential option is if Spire elects to move on from Haley. Signing Suárez would give Spire a veteran who has won multiple races and would be highly motivated to prove he deserves to remain in Cup.

Jordan Bianchi added.

Daniel Suarez is in a position where he would likely be willing to take any seat just to remain in the Cup Series next season. However, the Mexican driver must be smart enough to recognise the right opportunity.

He cannot make a move down the field and struggle at the back for a season. This would only lessen his worth in NASCAR and top teams may look away later on. Thus, unless Suarez can land a seat in a team like Spire, he would be better off showing his talent in Xfinity for the following season.
