The 2024 NASCAR season hasn’t been treating two drivers really well, namely Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch and Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain. The duo hasn’t scored a single race victory this season, and unlike in the past has found themselves in a really tough position in terms of points scored.

Ex-NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace, who is known for always being engaged with fans on social media was asked about what he thinks the reason for Ross Chastain not being able secure a win this season with Trackhosue. He responded by highlighting the importance of engineers within the team and how Kyle Busch as well as Chastain is struggling because their engineers are taking bit time to figure Next-Gen cars.

The new NeXt Gen race car is ALL dependent on the engineers. The drivers are all pretty equal now of day (See Kyle Busch). Whoever has the engineers that can figure it out the quickest will go through the least amount of DRY SPELLS.
Kenny Wallace responded via X.

The former racer seems to have good point on the struggles of the teams. It resonates more with RCR than Trackhosue. Richard Childress’ team seems to have taken the wrong path with their 2024 development plans and it resulted in them having worse result most often this year.

Denny Hamlin reckons there is still hope for Kyle Busch

JGR’s Denny Hamlin via his podcast discussed the poor run his former teammate is having with RCR. While talking about a possible redemption, he pointed out that though he hasn’t seen enough speed from RCR there is still light at the end of the tunnel for Kyle Busch.

Short of that, I just don’t know how it’s gonna happen. I just haven’t seen the speed from RCR all year long. … The light at the end of the tunnel is that there’s no place to go but up. He’s had a terrible skid. I commend him so much for how he’s handling it.
Denny Hamlin said.

Everyone in the NASCAR community would be hoping to see Kyle Busch back on performing on an elite level where he belongs. But in order for that to happen as Kenny Wallace highlighted RCR engineers has given him a competitive car. It would be interesting to see how the reminder of the season would playout for Busch and co.
