Kevin Harvick asserts not winning at Talladega would be “an absolute failure” for Ford

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Season has been a nightmare for the Ford NASCAR Cup teams. They haven’t won a single race so far in the season and the closest they have come to a victory was at Atlanta, where the reigning champion Ryan Blaney secured P2 in an epic photo-finish. This week they will have the best shot at ending this winless streak if the cards are played right.
The Cup grid is going to Talladega for the third Superspeedway race of 2024. It’s been a track where Ford historically has produced consistent victories, but it is uncertain if the teams would be able to repeat the same in the new Ford Dark Horse that was introduced this season. Now 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick has come forth reminding Ford how important Talladega is for them.
Kevin Havick, who drove Ford in his final years at Stewart Haas Racing, pointed out that not winning at Dega would be considered an absolute failure from the team. He believes it is the only track the manufacturer has an edge over its rivals and it is the right place for them to finally end the winless streak.
I think this weekend is really important for Ford. If a Ford does not win this weekend, it is an absolute failure with everything they have going on. They need to win the race this weekend. A Ford has to win the race this weekend to stop the bleeding from everything that they have going on. Kevin Harvick claims Dega is the only place Ford might win in 2024
Two champion that have been contested in the Next-Gen era so far has been won by Ford teams, with Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney. But Harvick doesn’t expect the champion drivers to get Ford out of the pit they are in right now as they don’t have a strong car. Hence, he sees Talladega as the only place they could win a race before playoffs.
And I think that they know that this might be the only place they can win because of the position that they’re in with all the other racetracks. And by the way, this is the only superspeedway left before the playoffs.

The 2024 Champion’s comments should be given some serious thought as the current state of Ford is disappointing for the series as well as the fandom. They can bounce back by working more on the cars and helping it’s drivers to take w momentum securing win. Talladega is the great place for it as they can work with each other via drafting to achieve this.
